What is HCL Mosaic ?

HCL Mosaic is a modular cloud-based service that provides a pre-integrated development and delivery platform combining HCL Mosaic Digital Experience Compose for digital experience and content management, HCL Mosaic Volt MX (including Volt Foundry) for multi-experience application development, and HCL Mosaic Leap for low-code forms. The deployment is an HCL-managed cloud service that takes advantage of a modern Kubernetes-based architecture. Platform administration is fully managed by HCL, including all patching and upgrades, ensuring customers always have access to the latest capabilities and services offered by the components deployed within the solution.

Customer administrative responsibilities include federating at least one network accessible OIDC-compliant identity provider (IdP) with the HCL Mosaic identity service, allowing for delegation and re-use of existing user repositories to which customers retain control.

The platform supports a modern application development approach, including contemporary JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, and Vue for front-end experience development, in addition to the native framework within the Iris IDE for Volt MX multi-experience applications. DX Compose utilizes OpenLiberty and Java 21+ runtime. Integration with existing IT infrastructure, such as external data sources and services, is facilitated primarily through APIs and connectors.

HCL Mosaic is designed as an AI-first platform, natively integrating AI capabilities for developers, including AI features allowing users to Analyze (e.g., predictive analytics), Assist (e.g., code completion), Create (generative content), and Act (Agentic AI orchestration via UnO and AION integration). HCL Mosaic will also be the home for future AI advancements, such as for vibe coding and other AI capabilities.
