The information contained in this section applies to IBM WebSphere Commerce Version 7.0.0.9 and Feautre Pack 8. The documentation also applies to all subsequent releases and modifications until otherwise indicated in new editions.
Operating
IBM Management Center for WebSphere Commerce
The IBM Management Center for WebSphere Commerce, or Management Center, is a suite of tools to support store management, merchandising, and marketing tasks for business users (Sellers, Marketing Managers, Product Managers, Catalog Managers, and others).
Marketing tool
Use the Marketing tool in Management Center to create and manage marketing campaigns and other store content (excluding catalog content). You can use the extensive precision marketing features in the tool to deliver targeted marketing messages to customers.
Working with web and dialog activities
Web and dialog activities are managed by Marketing Managers. They are used to deliver brand or promotional messages to customers through a variety of methods.
Activating or deactivating an activity
Activities can exist in the store in two states; active or inactive. You must activate an activity to make it perform its function for your store. For example, you must activate a web activity to make it display content in e-Marketing Spots on your store pages. You can edit inactive activities only.

Procedure

Open the Marketing tool.
Find the marketing activity that you want to activate: tsbfindmarkarchive.html#locatingapromo
Right-click the activity:
1. To activate an inactive activity, select the activity, and click Activate.
  Before an activity that sends an email can be activated, the store e-mail account must be configured. Furthermore, if the email send date is the same as the current date, ensure that the system's delivery time has not passed.
2. To deactivate an active activity, select the activity, and click Deactivate.
