Finishing activities in a single-stream UCM project that is enabled for Rational® ClearQuest®

In a single-stream UCM project that is enabled for Rational® ClearQuest®, you indicate that your work on an activity is done by finishing the activity.

Before you begin

In a UCM project that is enabled for Rational® ClearQuest®, if you are not already logged on to the database that holds the project's activities, you will be prompted to log on before you can finish the activity.

Procedure

To finish an activity:
  1. Check in all the resources that you modified as part of working on the activity.
  2. Select the view's My Activities folder in the ClearTeam Navigator to display activity details in the ClearTeam Details view or double-click the My Activities folder in the ClearCase® Details view.
  3. In the ClearTeam Details view, select the activity and then choose Finish Activity from the context menu.
    If any of the resources in the activity's change set are still checked out, you are prompted to check them in. Finish Activity cannot complete until you do so.

Results

The activity transitions to the Complete state type. Note that if your ClearCase® server is configured to work with Rational® ClearQuest® and your ClearQuest® policies are configured to transition the state of the Rational® ClearQuest® record to Resolved when you finish an activity, Rational® ClearQuest® will automatically transition the record as appropriate if the transition does not require further information.
