You can use the ClearTeam
Navigator or ClearCase® Details view to rename resources under ClearCase source control. These operations affects
resources (versions) in the local ClearCase view
and elements in the VOB.
About this task
Renaming a resource under ClearCase source
control creates a new version of the directory that contains the resource. The new directory version
catalogs the renamed resources under their new names and removes the names of the deleted
resources.
Procedure
To rename one or more resources under ClearCase source control:
-
In the ClearTeam
Navigator or ClearCase Details view, select the resource you want to
rename.
You can select multiple resources to rename.
Note: You cannot rename a directory if it contains
any checked-out resources or hijacked files.
- Select Rename from the context menu.
The Rename dialog box opens. If it
opens in simplified version of the Rename dialog
box, you can click Show Details to display
options. You can click Hide Details to return
to a simplified version of the dialog box.
- In the New Name column, next to
the resource you want to rename, type the new name of the resource,
including any file extensions.
- Enter new names for each resource you want to rename and
clear the checkbox next to any resources that you do not want to rename.
- Enter any comments you want to associate with the rename
operation.
- If you want the parent directory to be checked in when
the operation is complete, clear the Leave the parent directory
checked out option.
- Click OK to complete the rename
operation or Cancel to cancel it.
