Creating a ClearCase view
Create a ClearCase® view to access resources in ClearCase repositories.
About this task
Base ClearCase and UCM require kinds types of
views that specify the development policies of your development team. You must choose one or the
other before you create the views you will need. You must also decide on the type of view that best
accommodates how you work:
- In a LAN environment, a dynamic view (if you always work connected to the LAN) or a snapshot view (if you sometimes work disconnected from the LAN)
- In a WAN (or LAN) environment, an automatic view or a web view.
The ClearTeam® Explorer includes two view creation wizards, which are accessible from the ClearCase advanced toolbar. To create a ClearCase view, take one of the following actions:
- Click the
icon on the ClearCase toolbar or select ClearCase > Create View from the menu bar
to start the View Creation wizard. You can also create a UCM view by selecting a UCM stream in the
ClearTeam
Navigator, right-clicking, and selecting
Create View from the context menu. For more information about creating Base
ClearCase views, see Creating a base ClearCase view. - Click the
icon on the ClearCase UCM toolbar or select ClearCase > Join Project from the menu bar
to start the Join UCM Project wizard. You can also join a UCM project by selecting a UCM stream in
the ClearTeam
