Device Details page

The Device Details page in BigFix provides in-depth information about enrolled devices, aiding in troubleshooting by displaying device attributes and location. Users can access this page by selecting a device from the Device Explorer table and view unique properties, activity feed, applicable fixlets, device properties, and tags.

The Device Details Page provides detailed information about a device enrolled in a BigFix account. This information is helpful for fixing problems on specific devices by displaying the device’s location and attributes.

When you click a Device Name from the Device Explorer – List View, the Device Details page opens. This page is divided into three sections: Overview, Relevant Fixlets, and Deployments. Each section presents different aspects of the selected device’s status and activity.

Overview Tab

The Overview tab summarizes key information about the selected device. It contains the following panels:

  • Maintenance window – Displays the configured maintenance schedule for the device.

    You can click Edit to modify the maintenance window parameters.

  • Groups of which this device is a member – Lists all static and dynamic groups that include this device.

    You can View all groups or Add to static group directly from this section.

  • Relay installed – Shows whether the BigFix relay is installed on the device, the relay name, its parent relay, and reporting devices.

    If the relay is installed, the Service Status and Uninstall Relay options appear.

  • Core properties – The Core Properties panel displays key system information collected from the BigFix to help identify and assess device health. This information provides a quick overview of the device’s configuration, performance, and connectivity within the BigFix environment.

Relevant Fixlets

The Relevant Fixlets tab lists all Fixlets that apply to the selected device. It provides visibility into pending actions, patches, or configuration changes that the device qualifies for based on its current state. You can use this view to monitor outstanding compliance issues and plan remediation actions.

You can scroll the list to locate a specific Fixlet and take relevant actions such as viewing details.

Deployments

The Deployments tab displays details of actions or patches that have been deployed to the selected device. It helps track the execution and outcome of tasks initiated from the BigFix environment. This information helps you verify that targeted actions are applied successfully and troubleshoot any failed deployments.
