BigFix UI Installation

BigFix UI Configuration Manager is an interactive, step-by-step tool that helps you easily set up the BigFix UI environment. Whether you're performing a first-time installation or reconfiguring your environment, this setup wizard ensures all the necessary components are configured in the correct order.

The setup process includes the following steps:

Administrative Credentials – Define the administrator account that grants access to the BigFix UI Configuration Manager. This ensures only authorized users can initiate and manage the setup process.
Database Configurations – Connect the BigFix UI to the database system that stores application data. You must provide database connection details such as hostname, port, and authentication credentials.
Certificate Configurations – Configure SSL/TLS certificates to enable secure and encrypted communication. You can provide a common name (CN), subject alternative names (SANs), and select certificate authority options.
Application Configurations – Define application-level settings such as the web communication protocol (HTTPS), server port, and trusted browser origins. You can also enable FIPS-140 only mode and configure the application to run as a Windows service.
MTLS Certificate Configurations – Configure mutual TLS certificates for both internal and external communications. This step validates endpoint identity and ensures that only trusted systems can connect.
BES Explorer Configurations – Provide the configuration details for the BES Explorer instance. This includes setting IP addresses, ports, and login credentials required to complete secure binding with the BigFix UI.
