Knowing BigFix UI

BigFix UI is a unified interface that consolidates multiple BigFix capabilities into one modern application. It provides IT operations and security teams with a centralized workspace to manage endpoints, remediate vulnerabilities, and generate reports.

Instead of switching across multiple consoles, you can navigate all essential BigFix features from a single, streamlined UI. When you sign in, the customizable Welcome to HCL BigFix home dashboard shows widget cards for the applications and reports that you use most, and the notifications bell in the header alerts you to events across modules.

BigFix UI organizes capabilities into four main areas: Explore, Resolve, Reporting, and Administration. This structure helps you move easily between day-to-day endpoint operations, vulnerability management, reporting, and user access tasks.

Explore

  • Devices – View, filter, and manage endpoints. Configure properties such as maintenance windows and initiate actions. From the Device Details page, you can also open a remote control session or send a message to a device.
  • Fixlets – Browse and deploy Fixlets such as operating system patches, application updates, or configuration changes. You can also create, edit, and delete your own custom Fixlets.
  • Deployments – Track the status of active, stopped, or completed deployments, assign tags to deployments, and review the details of each deployment.

Resolve

  • Custom Remediation – Create and run ad hoc remediation actions tailored to your environment.
  • DEX – Monitor Digital Employee Experience (DEX) scores and historical trends across your environment.

Reporting

  • All Reports – Access existing reports, mark favorites, and manage import/export options. You can also assign tags to reports and generate reports offline.
  • Report Builder – Build custom reports from device, Fixlet, deployment, and user data sets, with filters and chart widgets.

Administration

  • User Management – Manage users, roles, and access permissions for the BigFix UI.

Workspace features

Across all areas, BigFix UI provides a consistent set of workspace features:

  • The Notifications panel, opened from the bell icon in the header, where you can filter, search, and archive notifications from every module.
  • The Account panel, where you manage your profile and password, review your account activity, and set your language and theme preferences.
  • Browser-based navigation, so the browser back and forward buttons, browser tabs, and shareable page links work as you expect.
