DEX Prerequisites

Before installing DEX, the following set of prerequisites must be met:

BigFix Platform:
- Basic platform setup required
- Baseline BigFix environment must be in place
BigFix UI
- BigFix UI component must be installed. For BigFix UI installation , refer to BigFix UI Installation.
- Required for the DEX web experience
BES Explorer
- Must be present on the environment
- Upgrade to latest via Fixlet #800
BES Agent
- Client v11.0.6+ on ALL nodes — Windows & Mac
- Install only on native BigFix clients
- Nodes must reach the BigFix infrastructure
Supported OS
- ClickHouse: RHEL or Ubuntu only
- NATS, DEX Server/FillDB, plugins: Windows
- Scanner plugin: Windows 10/11 & Mac (≥13)
Connectivity and Ports
- Default & custom ports supported
- MSSQL 1433 · ClickHouse 9000 · NATS 4222
- All reachable from DEX Server & FillDB
