WebSphere Commerce server installation issues
If you encounter problems during the installation of the WebSphere Commerce server, review the following issues.

Silent installation on the AIX platform fails due to the report of insufficient space in the /tmp directory when the setup_aix script is run.

Problem

Installation fails when setup_aix is run and reports that there is insufficient space in the /tmp directory. This error can occur even when there is ample space available. This problem occurs when the installer is not able to correctly invoke OS-specific APIs to detect free space in the /tmp directory due to permission issues.

Solution

Run setup_aix with the -is:tempdir /other/temp/path parameter, specifying another temporary directory to use.

For example,

setup_aix -silent -options /pkg/products/commerce/response/WC7_Custom.response -is:tempdir /apps/temp/temp
