Setting inventory thresholds

Use the Inventory dashboard to edit your default SKU thresholds, or set threshold overrides on a per-Channel basis.

Before you begin

  • Ensure that you understand your organization's inventory management system and its related procedures before using the Inventory dashboard to upload inventory-related data.
  • Ensure that you have a login provided to you that is assigned the Site Administrator role. This role is required to access the Inventory dashboard.
  • Review Inventory thresholds.

About this task

Default thresholds are applied to your inventory globally on a per-SKU level during catalog upload (as defined within the Catalog data file (items.csv)). Use the Inventory dashboard to update default item level settings and additionally override these thresholds manually per channel as per business needs.
Restriction: Threshold values are a default set at the Item level. Individual store threshold overrides cannot be loaded via file upload, and must be set manually via the Inventory dashboard.When there are no overrides item configuration settings to be apply to all channels.

Procedure

To apply inventory settings to a SKU on a global, or per-store basis:
  1. Log in to Commerce Lab.
  2. Select Inventory.
    The Inventory Dashboard is displayed.
  3. Under the Configuration tab, select Configure SKUs.
    The Configure SKUs page is displayed.
  4. Depending on whether you want to set the global threshold default, or a per-store override, select a store or clear the store selection using the Store selection dropdown.
  5. Apply thresholds to each SKU individually, or by selecting multiple SKUs to override.

    Single SKU For each SKU:
    • Select Edit Threshold to set the global default;
    • Or select Override Threshold to set an override at a selected store.
    Multi-SKU selection For each grouping of SKUs:
    1. Locate the SKU or SKUs that you want to modify within the SKU table, or by using the search functionality.
    2. Select each SKU using the check box selection in the leftmost column of the table.
    3. Select Override Threshold or Edit Threshold above the table, to override the threshold for the selected SKUs at a selected store, or to modify the global default.

Results

Your thresholds are set.
