Managing email template configuration

Configure inbound and outbound email accounts in Management Center to manage marketing communications and delivery reports.

About this task

  • Outbound accounts: Send marketing emails to customers.
  • Inbound accounts: Retrieve information about undelivered emails (bounces). You can configure these emails to retry "soft bounces" to improve delivery rates.
Note: This topic applies to Management Center for HCL Commerce version 9.1.19 and later.

Procedure

  1. In Management Center, go to Administration > System Administration > Email Configurations.
  2. In the Email Configurations List page, you can perform the following tasks:

    Search

    Use the Search field to find email configuration.

    Create
    Select Create Email Configuration.
    • Select an Email Configuration Type and a Store.
      Note: Each store can have only one Inbound and one Outbound configuration.
    • In the Commerce host field, enter the fully qualified host name (for example, system1.mydomain.com). Use localhost for HCL Commerce Developer.
    • For Inbound accounts, configure the bounce settings:
      • To resend failed emails, select Retry soft bounces from e-mail activities and set the retry frequency.
      • To only log errors, select Extract bounce information only.
    • For Outbound accounts: Set the Delivery start time (0 to 23).
    Edit
    Select the Edit icon from the Actions column.
    Note: You cannot edit the store name or configuration type.
    Duplicate

    Select the Duplicate icon from the Actions column. Enter a new name to create a copy of the configuration.

    Delete
    Note: Deleting an email template configuration is permanent.
    To proceed:
    • For a single configuration: Select the Delete icon from the Actions column.
    • For multiple configurations: Select two or more templates, then select Delete All.
