You can assign different layouts
to specific department
or category pages in different time periods. For example, for Halloween
you might want to pre-schedule the layout to use for a particular
department or category page. You can also assign layouts to all product,
bundle, SKU, kit, or dynamic kit pages directly under the particular
department or category.
Procedure
- Open the Page Layout tool.
-
Find the department or category
page you want to change the layout for, and open the page to
display the properties view.
The Default
Page Layout information contains the layout the department
or category page defaults to.
- In the Manage
Department Page or Manage
Category Page tab, expand the Page Layout section.
Assign the layout that you want to use for the particular department
or category page.
In the case of an Extended
Site, two Page Layout Assignment lists are
displayed; one for the Storefront Asset store, and the other for the
Extended Site store.
- Browse the Page Layout folder for
available page layouts.
- In the Page
layout assignments table, drag and drop the page layout
you want to assign to the page.
- Optional: Specify
the start and end dates.
Note: - If you do not specify
the start date, the page layout takes effect
immediately.
- If you do not specify the end date, the page
layout is used in
the storefront until another layout assignment is made.
- Optional:
Specify
the priority of the page layout assignment.
The priority
number determines which page layout assignment to use on the storefront
when conflicts arise, such as when the schedules overlap for two different
page layout assignments. The page layout assignment with the highest
priority is used on the storefront. When multiple conflicting page
layout assignments have the same priority, one is randomly selected.
Specify a number from 0 (lowest priority) to 1000 (highest priority).
- Optional: Assign page
layouts to all the
product, SKU, bundle, kit, and dynamic kit pages under the particular
department or category.
- Expand the section that
you want to assign page layouts to:
- Product Page Layout
- SKU
Page Layout
- Bundle Page Layout
- Kit Page Layout
- Dynamic
Kit Page Layout
- Specify the start and end dates.
- Specify the priority of the page layout assignment.
Note: The
assigned layout is only used for catalog entry pages
directly under the particular department or category. That is, the
assigned layout is not applied to the catalog entry pages that belong
to subcategories in the particular department or category.
- Click Save; then
click
Close.
