Library: browse, edit, and run definitions directly from the database

With the Library, you can now browse and edit any item definition directly from the database, for fast day-to-day changes across your automation environment. You can also run workflow or task definitions.

The Library adds a database-first area to Design that queries the storage microservice directly, giving you a fast, canvas-free way to browse, edit, and run item definitions across your entire automation environment. Use it alongside the canvas workspace: reach for the Library for quick, everyday changes, and open a definition into a workspace whenever visual dependency design is what you need.

Every definition, instantly searchable

A folder tree, a real-time search-folder filter, a breadcrumb trail, and an item search bar narrow down large automation environments in place. Switch between the grouped Tree view and the compact List view without losing your position in the folder hierarchy.

See who changed what, the moment it happens

The Recent activity tab lists every creation and modification event across the environment, with the item path, timestamp, and user attached to each entry. Filter by Key, User, or Item type to isolate exactly the changes you are chasing.

Bulk actions that respect your permissions

Select definitions across categories and the action bar shows only the operations every selected item supports.

One click from lookup to full canvas editing

Found the definition you need? Open it directly into a new Graphical Designer workspace from the same context menu.

Changes made in the Library commit directly to the database. To bring them into a canvas workspace that is already open, perform a Workspace Merge — see Managing your workspaces. For a full tour of the Library and its navigation controls, see Library overview and Navigating and searching the Library. For step-by-step instructions on managing definitions, performing bulk actions, and opening a definition in a canvas, see Managing definitions from the Library, Performing bulk actions and handling permissions, and Opening definitions in a canvas workspace.
