Multi-agent collaboration with the Agent-to-Agent protocol

The Agent-to-Agent (A2A) protocol introduces a standardized contract for HCL Universal Orchestrator AI Agents, allowing external agent clients to discover capabilities and execute complex workflows efficiently.

The new Agent-to-Agent (A2A) protocol integration introduces a standardized discovery and invocation framework for external agent clients.

By exposing selected internal HCL Universal Orchestrator AI Agents as A2A-compliant agents, external clients can easily inspect agent descriptions, discover supported skills, and execute actions.

This feature enables multi-agent collaboration across diverse technical platforms while preserving existing enterprise authentication, authorization, tenant isolation, and conversation lifecycle management.

Standardized cross-platform interoperability: External AI agents can delegate tasks to HCL Universal Orchestrator AI agents out of the box, eliminating the need to write and maintain custom client integrations.

Real-time execution visibility: Server-Sent Events (SSE) deliver continuous, live progress notifications, ensuring external systems remain synchronized during long-running workflow tasks.
Enterprise security and skill reuse: Organizations can maximize their automation investment by reusing existing AI agent definitions and workflow skills within a secure,multi-tenant environment.
