v2.1.7+Navigating and searching the Library

The Library provides a folder tree, breadcrumb trail, category accordions, a search bar, and a Recent activity feed to locate and filter item definitions across your automation environment.

Library and Recent activity tabs

The Library area presents two tabs that serve distinct purposes:

Library
The primary database navigation interface. Displays the folder tree, breadcrumb trail, item search bar, and expandable category accordions listing all item definitions in the currently selected folder.
Recent activity

A chronological feed of creation and modification events across all item types in the system. Each entry displays the item display name, its full directory path (for example, /FOLD1_EDIT/FOLDER1/), the event timestamp, and the user who performed the action (for example, Created by UserOne). A type-specific icon identifies the definition category at a glance.

Filter the feed by Key, by User, or by Item type; the Item type filter accepts multiple selections at once. Click the three-dot menu on any entry to reveal the actions available for that item, matching the single-item actions described in Managing definitions from the Library.

Note: Tab selection and expanded folder tree state are tied to the current browser session and are not saved to user preferences. Both reset on browser refresh.

Folder tree

The folder tree occupies the left pane of the Library tab and reflects the full hierarchical folder structure stored in the database.

Search folder
A real-time filter input at the top of the folder tree. Type any part of a folder name to narrow the tree to matching entries without navigating away from your current position.
Collapse button
The arrow button to the right of the tree pane collapses the folder tree, maximizing the available horizontal space for the definition list and action bar. Click it again to restore the tree.

Breadcrumb navigation

The breadcrumb trail above the definition list shows your current position in the folder hierarchy (for example, / Archive / 2026). Click any segment to jump directly to that folder level without using the tree.

Switching between Tree view and List view

The definition list defaults to Tree view, grouping item definitions into the category accordions described below. Click the List view button above the definition list to switch to a compact layout that displays each item definition in the selected folder as an icon with its name visible beneath it. List view preserves the same grouping by item type as Tree view. Click Tree view to switch back.

Category accordions

Item definitions in the selected folder are grouped into expandable accordion sections, one per category. Expand a category to view and act on its members, collapse it to reduce visual noise. The categories are:

  • Calendars
  • Credentials
  • Endpoints
  • Event sources
  • Folders
  • Human task queues
  • Resources
  • Run cycle groups
  • Task templates
  • Variable tables
  • Workflows
  • Workstations

Categories containing no items in the selected folder are hidden automatically.
