Changing marketing content
You can update marketing content to correct errors or to adjust strategy.
Before you begin
If you are using extended sites, and logged in to an extended site, you can change content if the content belongs to the extended site store. If the content belongs to the asset store, you can only change the content if your user ID has access to the asset store.
Procedure
- Open Commerce Lab Tools, and from the left navigation menu, click .
-
Content List page opens. Locate the marketing content that you
want to change:
- Browse the Content - List page
- You can find all of the marketing content that is defined for the store in the Content - List page.
- Simple search
- Navigate to the find area.
- Type a keyword and select a search object type from the list.
- The system performs a search of the content name field that is based on
your search criteria. This search is case-insensitive.
You can also use the asterisk (*) as a wildcard before or after your search string. For example, to find all content that begins with "ABC", type ABC*; to find all content that ends with "ABC", type *ABC.
Any special characters (for example, &, %, #, @), are treated literally. The asterisk (*), however, is treated literally only when used between two asterisks (such as *xxx*xxx*), or when used in the middle of a string (such as 123*789).
- Browse the Content - List page
-
Click on the name of the customer segment to update the
information. Edit Content page opens. Alternatively, from the
Actions menu, click three vertical dots and click
Edit. Edit Content page opens.
The content properties section expands, with the fields populated with the information about the selected content. For more information about properties you can set for marketing content, see Creating marketing content to display on store pages
If you are changing content to associate an asset with the content or to change an associated asset, consider the file size of the asset. If content includes asset files that are large, the loading time of store pages can be affected. If you must associate a large file, such as a video, to a piece of content, you might need to select to Ignore the associated asset file size limit.
- Edit the text fields as appropriate and click Save.
