Creating a new layout
The Management Center enables you to create a new page layout through the Page Composer tool. If you have chosen to work on a task in the Workspace Management tool, the workspace context associated with the task will be used to create a layout. The new layout will only be available in the workspace until the associated task group is approved and the layout is committed to approved content.

Note: Unless you have chosen a task, you cannot create a new
layout.
Note: You can create Storefront Asset
Store layouts if the Storefront Asset Store store is selected.
Procedure
- Open Management Center tools.
- From the hamburger menu, select . A landing page opens, which lists all the existing pages.
- Open Management Center tools and from the left navigation menu, click .
- This landing page consists of two sections, Pages and Layouts. Select Layouts to create a new page layout.
- Select the store from the Store filter for which you want to create a new layout.
- Once the store is selected, click on Add New Layout to create a new layout for the selected store.
- The Create New Layout box opens on the right side of the screen.
- In the Layout properties column, enter the Name you want to assign to the layout.
- Assign a priority by entering a number between zero (lowest priority) and one thousand (highest priority). If more than one layout is assigned to or inherited by a page for a given time period, the layout with the highest priority is applied to the storefront.

Click the check box next to Use as a default layout if
you want to use this new layout as a default layout. Once you click the check
box, a pop-up window will be displayed on the screen.
- You can use this layout as the default layout by selecting the radio
button in front of the following pages:
- Category Pages
- Product Display Pages
- Bundle Display Pages
- Kit Display Pages
- Category-level SKU Display Pages
- Click Confirm to use the selected layout as a default layout.
- Once confirmed, the current default layout will be displayed below the check box. For example, selecting the radio button given for category pages display the Current default layout for Category Pages.
Note: The default layout will be used if no other layout is assigned to a catalog entry page or category page. Only one default layout for each page type is allowed at a time. If you assign a new default, the old default layout will be unassigned. - You can use this layout as the default layout by selecting the radio
button in front of the following pages:
- In Layout Scheduling, click on the check box to Start immediately. If not, select the Start date and Start time.
- Click on the check box if you want this layout to have No expiry date. Select the End date and End time if you want to set an expiry date.
- Click Create Layout. The layout is created.
- If you have added a default layout, the selected page will also be shown on the home screen below Layout Assignments.
- Double-click on the layout you created to design the template, assign pages and update properties.
