Disabling guest shopping for the Ruby storefront

In the Ruby storefront, you can disable guest shopping for customers. The steps involve removing the related policies and disabling guest shopping flex flow in the Commerce Lab. You can then verify that guest shopping is disabled by attempting to browse the store catalog and place an order as a guest customer.

  • When guest shopping is disabled, customers who are not signed in cannot add items to their current order and place an order.

Procedure

  1. Disable the guest shopping flow from the Commerce Lab by following the steps given below:
    1. Open Commerce Lab Tools.
    2. From the left navigation menu, go to Business tools > Store Management > Manage Stores.
    3. All the stores are listed on this page. Double-click on the Ruby storefront. The Store Properties tab displays.
    4. Navigate to the Configurations window and select optional integrations and functions to enable or disable the guest for the Ruby storefront.
    5. Uncheck the Enable guest shopping (when the store is served by Next.js) checkbox.
Shopper is disabled for guest shopping from the Ruby storefront.
  2. Refresh the registries in Commerce Lab for Commerce+ or restart the Commerce+ server container.
