Comparing task changes with approved content

All changes that are made to business objects within a task are listed in the History pane as either create, modify, or delete history records. Comparing a modified business object with the approved content displays both versions of the object side by side for quick comparison.

Note: Task change history is inherited from the associated task group. Therefore, all tasks in the same task group contain the same history.

Before you begin

Ensure that you are logged in to the Workspace Management tool as one of the following roles:
  • Workspace manager
  • Task group approver
  • Content contributor

About this task

Note: You can compare a modified business object with approved content only if the business object exists in approved content.

Procedure

  1. Open the Workspace Management tool.
  2. HCL Commerce Version 9.1.16.0 or later Open Management Center tools and from the left navigation menu, click Business tools > Workspace > Task List.
  3. Find and open the task for which you want to open the changes.
  4. Click the History tab.

    Every change that is associated with the task group is listed as history record in the history table.

  5. Click the history record that contains the modified business object to which you want to compare with the approved version.
  6. Click Compare with approved content. Alternatively, right-click the history record and click Compare with approved content or click Edit > Compare with approved content.
    The modified business object is displayed in the left pane, while the approved content is displayed in the right pane.
    Note: The Compare with approved content shows the differences between the current workspace and the approved content. It displays the changes that are made by all users within the workspace. It does not identify which user made which modification.
    Important: If no record is displayed in the right pane, it means that the business object you are trying to compare does not exist in approved content.
