Create managed file attachments

Use the Assets tool to create an attachment to act as a container for URLs. To associate a managed file with a catalog entry, category or marketing content, create an attachment first. You can have different versions of a managed file for each supported language. You can also create attachments using external content or by entering a URL directly.

Procedure

  1. Open the Management Center.
  2. From the hamburger menu, click Assets. The Assets page is displayed.
  3. HCL Commerce Version 9.1.16.0 or later Open Management Center tools and from the left navigation menu, click Business tools > Content > Attachments.
  4. From the File menu, select New > Attachment.
  5. In the properties view, click the Manage Attachment tab. In the General Attachment Information section, complete the following information:

    Code The unique identifier for the attachment. For example, 300011Att. If you do not specify the code, a unique identifier is automatically generated for the attachment.
    Name The name of the attachment.
    Short description Enter a brief description of the attachment. To display the field as a column in a list view, right-click a column heading in the list view and click Configure Columns.
    Long description Enter a detailed description, if applicable. This field is not displayed by default in the list view. To display the field as a column in a list view, right-click a column heading in the list view and click Configure Columns.
    Note: A file can be assigned to an attachment using the following methods:
    • By entering a URL.
    • By providing a reference to a file using drag and drop.
  6. In the URLs table:
  7. Specify the languages for each URL by selecting the check box that applies to the selected URL.
    Note: If you do not specify a language for a URL, the URL is used for all languages that are supported in the selected store.
  8. Click Save; then click Close.
