Presentation layer
WebSphere Commerce uses Java Server Pages (JSP) to implement the view layer of the Model-View-Controller (MVC) design pattern. The view layer is in charge of retrieving data from the database through the use of data beans and formatting it to meet the display requirements. The view layers determines whether the request is sent to a browser or streamed out as XML. JSP files present a clean separation between data content and presentation.

To link an answer to an HTML page:

Procedure

Edit the XML input file.
Find the <answer> element that you want to change.
Enter the URL for the target HTML page between the <templateName> begin and end tags.
Enter the number 3 between the <templateUsage> begin and end tags.
Enter the number 0 between the <passConstraint> begin and end tags.
Enter the category ID of your guided sell between the <metaCategoryId> begin and end tags.
Enter the name of your Guided Sell metaphor between the <metaphorName> begin and end tags.
Save the XML file.
Update the production server by importing the updated XML file.
