You can create versions of a category. For example,
before you make any changes to a category description for an event,
you might want to create a version. After the event is over, you can
restore a previous version.
When you create a version,
the version is based on the latest changes in the category. If you
modify the category, the version remains unchanged.
Before you begin
Review the following page for a list of which parts of the
category are saved when a version is created: Working with category versions.
Procedure
- Open the Catalogs tool.
- To create a category version, select one of the following
from the explorer filter:
- Master Catalog Categories
- Sales Catalog Categories
- Select an option:
- On the explorer tree, right-click the category that you want
to create a version for, then click Open. In
the Versions tab, click the Create
Version icon .
- On the explorer tree, select the category that you want to
create a version for. In the Categories List view, select the subcategory
that you want to create a version for, then click the .
- Create versions for multiple categories at once
- From the explorer tree, right-click on the parent category, and
select Show Subcategories.
- In the Categories List view, select the subcategories that you
want to create versions for, then click the . To select multiple
categories, press the Ctrl key and click all
the categories that you want to select.
- In the Create Version window, enter
the version name and description of the version; then click Create.
Note: When you create versions for multiple categories at once,
the versions that are created all use the same version name and description
as specified.
