Catalog filter uploads
You can upload catalog filter data using
the Catalog Filter and Pricing tool. For example, if your company
maintains catalog filter data in a spreadsheet, you can upload the
data from the spreadsheet to the WebSphere Commerce database. The Catalog
Filter Upload feature uses the Data Load utility, but it provides
a user interface that makes the upload process easier.
In the Management Center, you can load your catalog filter data from a CSV (comma-separated value) file or a compressed file to the WebSphere Commerce database. You can also use the Catalog Filter Upload feature to delete catalog filter data from the database.
Use the Catalog Filter Upload to load:
- A CSV file.
- One or more CSV files in a compressed file (.zip file).
- Multiple language CSV files in a compressed file (.zip file). If you load multiple language CSV files in a compressed file, you must make sure all the CSV files are using the same file encoding.
- An XML formatted file.
- One or more XML files in a compressed (.zip) file.
- Multiple language XML files in a compressed (.zip) file. If you load multiple language XML files in a compressed file, you must make sure all the XML files are using the same file encoding.
Known limitations of the Catalog Filter Upload feature
You cannot upload a CSV file to Management Center using the Mozilla Firefox browser with a self-signed SSL certificate.
Other ways of uploading catalog filter data
In addition to uploading catalog filter data using the Catalog Filter and Pricing tool, you can also upload catalog filter data by using the Data Load utility. The Data Load utility is recommended for large amounts of data, for example, when initially loading catalog filters to the store.
