Troubleshooting: Incorrect facet counts in starter stores
Facet counts are not displayed correctly in starter stores with WebSphere Commerce search.
Problem
Facet counts are not displayed correctly in starter stores when published and non-published catalog entries exist in WebSphere Commerce search.
Solution
By default, the WebSphere Commerce search index includes all published and non-published catalog entries. This index is based on the catalog identifier and is shared by all stores that share the catalog.
Therefore, the facet count in the storefront includes both published and non-published catalog entries.
To resolve this issue, you must customize the search index preprocessor and build the search index for only published catalog entries. That is, catalog entries where publish is 1.
