Agent Taxonomy

The Agent Taxonomy feature allows users to classify and organize agents using predefined taxonomy dimensions such as lifecycle stage, runtime mode, compliance, and other categories. Users can select one or more dimensions to categorize and manage agents effectively. This configuration is available within the Master Agent creation or edit modal.

Steps to Access the Taxonomy Panel

  1. Open the URL: < https://tenant-url/admin#/>
  2. Navigate to the Agents tab.
  3. Click "+ Add New Agent".
  4. Select "Master Agent".
  5. Fill in the mandatory fields such as Agent Name and Description.
  6. Click the Taxonomy button to open the taxonomy configuration panel.
    • The Taxonomy button appears inline within the Master Agent modal.
    • Clicking the button opens the taxonomy panel on the right side of the screen.

Taxonomy Panel Overview
  • A right-side panel opens when the taxonomy button is clicked.
  • The panel displays multiple taxonomy dimensions.
  • Each dimension is displayed as an accordion.
  • Each accordion contains multiple selectable options represented by checkboxes.
Selecting Taxonomy Dimensions
  1. Open the taxonomy panel.
  2. Expand any dimension.
  3. Select one or more options using checkboxes.
  4. Repeat the process for other dimensions if needed.
  5. Click Submit to save the selected taxonomy dimensions.

Dimension Count Indicator

The taxonomy button dynamically shows the number of selected dimensions.

Example:
  • Selecting options in two dimensions displays: "2 Dimensions".
  • Selecting multiple options within the same dimension counts as one dimension.
Accordion Icon:
  • Dimensions can be expanded or collapsed.
  • Multiple accordions can be expanded simultaneously.

Selection Indicator:
  • When an option is selected, a blue indicator appears next to the dimension showing that selections exist.

Submit Button Behavior
  • Disabled State:
    • When no taxonomy options are selected.
    • When mandatory agent fields are not completed.
    • When no changes are made.

  • Enabled State:
    • When at least one taxonomy option is selected and mandatory fields are completed.

Saving Taxonomy Selections
  1. Select the required taxonomy options.
  2. Click Submit.

    Result:

    • Selected dimensions and options are saved successfully.
    • The dimension count on the taxonomy button updates automatically.
Editing Existing Taxonomy
  1. Open an existing agent.
  2. Click the Taxonomy button.
  3. Modify the taxonomy selections.

  4. Click Submit to save the updated configuration.
