HCL Commerce Version 9.1.12.0 or later

Searching users with the Advanced user search feature

The Users tool in the Management Center fails to perform search operations when the number of registered users is very large. To overcome this issue, Management Center has introduced the Advanced user search feature.

About this task

When the Advanced user search feature is enabled and a user enters the search string, the scope and type of search is controlled by two drop-down menus that are visible when Show filters toggle button is enabled.

To enable the Advanced user search feature, see Configuring the Advanced user search feature.

Procedure

  1. Open Management Center Tools.
  2. From the hamburger menu, select Manage Organizations > Users. The user's landing page opens.
  3. HCL Commerce Version 9.1.16.0 or later Open Management Center tools and from the left navigation menu, click Administration > Manage Organizations > Users.
  4. Enable the Show filters toggle button from the landing page.
    1. Select one of the following values from the search scope drop-down menu:
      • Login ID (default)
      • Name
      • Email
      • Phone number
    2. Select one of the following values from the search type drop-down menu:
      • Starts with (case sensitive) - default
      • Contains (case sensitive)
      • Exact match (case sensitive)
      • Starts with (case insensitive)
      • Contains (case insensitive)
      • Exact match (case insensitive)
Note: The user must type at least three characters into the search string before a Starts with or Contains search will be used. If there are fewer than three characters entered, then the search is converted into either Exact match (case sensitive) or Exact match (case insensitive) depending on whether a case sensitive or case insensitive search type is selected.
    3. In the Parent organization field, type the name of the organization to which the user belongs.
    4. In the Roles list, select the user's role.
  5. The system performs a fuzzy search and displays a list of users that match the search criteria. The list shows the user's Login ID, Last name, First name, Parent organization, Role, Account status, and Actions that can be performed for the user.
Note: From the Actions menu, you can enable or disable the user and reset the password.
