You might need to complete these common steps to enable certain fixes in WebSphere Commerce search APARs. This task re-creates the search index preprocessing templates. Your customized search index configuration is not impacted by this task.

Before you begin

  1. Install the interim fix for the APAR you require.
  2. Backup your existing search directory if you have customized the current search index preprocessing templates:

    • For IBM i OS operating system/search
    • WebSphere Commerce DeveloperWCDE_installdir\search

Procedure

  1. Delete the following directories:
    • SolarisLinuxAIXWindowsWC_installdir/instances/instance_name/search/pre-processConfig
    • For IBM i OS operating system/search/pre-processConfig
    • WebSphere Commerce DeveloperWCDE_installdir\search\pre-processConfig
  2. Re-create the search directory structure by completing the following task: Setting up the WebSphere Commerce search index structure.
  3. Merge your customizations back into the newly-created templates, if necessary. For example, changes made to the wc-data-config.xml file.
  4. Preprocess the WebSphere Commerce search index.
  5. Build the WebSphere Commerce search index.
