      • Downloading WebSphere Commerce media images

        To install WebSphere Commerce, you require the product package. Follow these steps to successfully download the required media.

      • Installing WebSphere Commerce Developer

        Depending on the size of your organization, there are two options available to you for installing WebSphere Commerce Developer. In a large development organization, you might want to create a common central repository so that you can set up and manage multiple identical development environments. If this option is not appropriate for your organization, you can instead install WebSphere Commerce Developer on each individual workstation.

      • Deploying WebSphere Commerce virtual system patterns or virtual application patterns

        WebSphere Commerce provides virtual system patterns and virtual application patterns that you can use to deploy a virtual WebSphere Commerce environment. You can use the patterns with IBM PureApplication System V2.1.0, IBM PureApplication Software V2.1.0, or the IBM PureApplication Service V2.1.0.

          You can use the Tivoli Configuration Manager client to push the Sales Center installation package from removable media or a local disk out to your Sales Center client machines. You need to give Tivoli instructions to push the installation package, and then run a silent install on the client machines.

        • ... using Lotus Expeditor Client Management

          If you already have the Lotus Expeditor client installed on the machines where you want to install the Sales Center client, you can use Lotus Expeditor Client Management to push the Sales Center client features out to your client machines.

        • .. from an update site

          If you already have any version of Lotus Expeditor installed, you cannot use the interactive install wizard. Instead, you can follow the steps in this task to use your existing version of Lotus Expeditor to install Sales Center.

        • Uninstalling IBM Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce

          There are three ways to uninstall the IBM Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce.

        • Uninstalling the Sales Center client using Tivoli Configuration Manager

          You can uninstall the Sales Center client from many remote client machines by using Tivoli Configuration Manager. You provide the path and arguments to the uninstallation program, and the installation will run silently, without you having to log into the client machines at all.

      • Installing or enabling additional software

        The following software programs require additional installation or enablement steps if you want to use them with WebSphere Commerce.

      • Installing maintenance

        WebSphere Commerce maintenance includes installing fix packs, interim fixes (APARs), and cumulative interim fixes.

      • Updating to IBM SDK, Java Technology Edition, Version 8

        WebSphere Application Server announced the end of service for WebSphere Application Server V7 and IBM SDK, Java Technology Edition, Version 6. To reduce the risk of security exposures and to ensure that you can continue to apply future WebSphere Application Server and Java-related fixes, install Version 8.5.5. Version 8.5.5 includes IBM SDK, Java Technology Edition, Version 8.

Installing IBM Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce

You can install IBM Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce either interactively or silently.

Before you begin

  • Ensure that your hardware conforms to the prerequisites described in Hardware prerequisites for installing WebSphere Commerce.
  • Ensure that your operating system conforms to the prerequisites described in Operating system prerequisites for installing WebSphere Commerce.
  • Installing IBM Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce interactively from a DVD
    You can install IBM Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce interactively from a DVD.
