Welcome to the BigFix DEX documentation, where you can find information about how to install and configure BigFix DEX (Digital Employee Experience).     - Integrated User Interface
      Starting from version 2.0, the DEX features are fully integrated in the BigFix UI. For more information about the new BigFix UI, including the integrated reporting features, refer Knowing BigFix UI documentation.

      The BigFix DEX solution leverages DEX metrics to monitor device health, detect anomalies, and assess their impact on endpoint user experience.

      The DEX Score serves as the foundational metric for measuring the end-user digital experience across enterprise devices, systems, and the systems they interact with. By capturing and showing the real-time actionable insight, DEX enables IT organizations to get better digital experience management and take necessary actions.

      The Device Score is a key metric that quantifies hardware health and operating system stability across all managed endpoints.
    - Application score
      An Application Score is the key performance indicator that quantifies the stability, performance, and usability of the software applications your employees rely on every day.
    - Sentiment score
      The Sentiment Score is computed by engaging employees through surveys to capture their perceptions of their digital experience. It translates qualitative feedback into a numerical value.

    - DEX Anomalies and events
      DEX anomaly refers to the unexpected or unusual behavior or performance issues happening on the user endpoints that deviate from normal patterns. These anomalies are typically identified using metrics and behavioral baselines collected by the BigFix Scanner (like response times, resource usage, disk performance, app crashes, etc.) and computed by the Scanner DEX plugin.

      To remediate issues related with scores, DEX provides methods of remediations. Using the remediation methods, you can bridge the gap between performance anomalies and targets by allowing you to fix them.

    BigFix UI is a unified interface that consolidates multiple BigFix capabilities into one modern application. It provides IT operations and security teams with a centralized workspace to manage endpoints, remediate vulnerabilities, and generate reports.

Data aggregation by endpoints

This section explains the categorisation of score data that is visible on the dashboard and upon further drilling down of the respective score pages.

There are two types of views available:

Group-level endpoint view
Single-level endpoint view

Group-level endpoint view

The main page of the DEX dashboard shows a group-level score calculation that functions as the high-level aggregation plane. Overview score widgets shows the overall DEX score and the scores for device, application and sentiment score (based on the surveys). They give an indication of the overall, group-level health state of the endpoints. Click on the “>” icon within the score widget (as shown in the screenshot below) to navigate to the score page, which displays the individual score.

Clicking on one of the leaf node, for example Boot, takes your to the Boot score group of devices view.

User experience of the group-level view

The group-level view shows the following widgets for all devices, applications, or sentiments, depending on the score type that you select:

Score: The overall score of all devices/applications/sentiments.
experience: Leaf scoresbased on the thresholds defined within the DEX core, which includes parameters, such as good, fair, not available.
all scores: scores around each areas, such as CPU, memory, etc.
score over time: score shown for a date rang: 7 days or 30 days.
worst scores for devices/applications/sentiments: top 5 worst scores across endpoints for the selected score type

Single-level endpoint view

The single-level endpoint views provides an isolated, detailed analysis exclusively on a single device/application module, package, or specific version string.

Navigating to the single-level view

There are two ways to navigate to the single-level view for any device, application, or sentiment:

Once you click on a single endpoint in above group-level view, you will reach the single endpoint view of that leaf category. BigFix UI > Resolve > DEX > Device score > Boot > Boot score page > Single device selection takes you to the single endpoint view.
Another navigation to get the single endpoint view is through the BigFix UI > Explore > Devices.
