  This guide explains how to install, configure, maintain, and use the IVR v.5 service. It also summarizes the full workflow for IVR v.5, from installing the IVR Retriever to remediating vulnerabilities from the BigFix UI.

IVR on-prem Start Process

This section explains how to start the IVR Retriever service.

When you install IVR with the Download Task, the BES IVR Retriever Service is installed as a Windows service and starts automatically. You don't need to start it after installation.

Start the service manually if the computer restarts and the service doesn't start, or if someone stops it. To restart the service after a configuration change, see Managing the IVR configuration. To start the service, use one of these methods:

Windows Services: Open services.msc, find BES IVR Retriever Service, and then click Start.

Command line: Open Command Prompt as an administrator, and then run:

cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\BigFix Enterprise\BESIvrRetriever\cmd\ivrNext"
ivrNext.exe --start

Note:

The paths in this guide assume the default installation path. If you changed it in the Download Task, replace C:\Program Files (x86)\BigFix Enterprise\BESIvrRetriever with your path.
