Extending
Using Commerce+'s xC programming model, you can use HCL-provided extension points to extend existing Commerce logic. You can implement these extensions with the xC Customization toolkit provided by HCL. Commerce+ also provides Packaged Business Capability integrations that extend the product's reach and functionality.

Commerce+ offers customizable features for storefronts using the Next.js framework. Commerce+ supports headless commerce to use any front end storefront.
Ruby storefronts
The Ruby storefront offers customizable features for storefronts using the Next.js framework. It uses the headless store data template and supports business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) use cases. The store includes pages for browsing, shopping, checkout, and account management, and uses Elastic for search functions.

In-progress orders and saved carts
In-progress orders allow users to save their shopping carts for later checkout. This feature enables users to add items, make modifications, and complete the purchase at their convenience without losing their selections. This functionality is available for both B2C and B2B Ruby storefronts. To use this feature on Ruby storefronts, the user must navigate to Account Settings and click In-Progress Orders.
Copying in-progress orders
You can copy an in-progress order in the Ruby B2B storefront. A copy of the order can be created by an individual user or by another person in the case of a shared order. However, you cannot copy private orders owned by others.

        My account page
        The My Account page displays the personal details, recent order details and other account tools of the registered shoppers and enables them to edit their personal information page and reorder their past order items.
        Locating stores with a store locator
        The Store Locator feature allows the shopper to easily locate a physical store of their choice by using online maps. This feature is especially designed to enable them to physically pick up the products bought online, from a store of their choice.
        Using buy online, pickup in store (BOPIS)
        The BOPIS feature allows the user to pick up the products purchased online from a physical store of their choice, without any pickup charges.
        Saving products for later
        When you decide to postpone the purchase of an item in the shopping cart, you can save it for a potential future purchase.
        Managing shopping carts
        You can view the items added for purchase in the shopping cart.
        Multiple shipment
        Shoppers purchasing products via react-based stores could only place an order for a single shipping address can now choose a multiple shipment option when placing an order. This document provides information on the multiple shipment facility provided to shoppers for the Ruby storefront.
        Multiple payment
        Shoppers buying products in Ruby storefront can pay a part of the total cart value by using various payment options such as cash on delivery or credit cards with the introduction of the multiple payment option.
        Primary addresses
        The primary address is the default address in your Ruby storefront account. It is stored in your profile for easy access during checkout and order management. This address is used for billing, shipping, and communication purposes.
        Multiple language and currency support
        Ruby storefronts (B2C and B2B) support multiple languages and currencies. You can view content and pricing in their preferred language and currency.
        Product comparison
        The product compare feature allows you to compare items from the Product Listing Page (PLP) in tabular form on a dedicated screen.
        Kit details
        A kit is a collection of items that are sold together as one catalog entry. The default layout for the page displays the kit name, image, price, short description, long description, descriptive attributes, and more. You can check inventory availability for the kit and add the kit to their cart or current order.
        Bundle details
        The Bundle page displays various combinations of items (bundles) in tabular form, which allows you to select attributes for products and their variants. The default layout for the page displays the bundle name, image, price, short description, long description, descriptive attributes, and more. Users can check inventory availability for the components in the bundle and add the bundle to their cart or current order.
        Quick order
        You can place orders within the Ruby storefront using the quick order functionality without navigating through product details and listing pages. This feature enables you to add multiple items to the shopping cart and proceed with the purchase.
        Checkout
        The checkout page displays the shipping and payment details for the items in the shopping cart.
        Guest shopping
        Guest shopping allows users to browse and purchase from the Ruby storefront without creating an account. This feature enhances the user experience in both B2C (Business-to-Consumer) and B2B (Business-to-Business) models by offering a flexible purchasing process.
        Volume pricing
        Volume pricing is a pricing structure where the cost per product decreases as the quantity purchased increases.
        Coupon wallet
        A coupon wallet is a storage for the coupons a shopper receives.
        Enabling schema org metadata
        Schema org metadata is added to the Ruby storefront pages for better search engine optimization (SEO). Schema org is a collaborative community activity that creates, maintains, and promotes schemas for structured data on the internet, web pages, email messages, and beyond.
        Enabling open graph tags
        Open Graph tags function is added to Ruby storefront pages to enhance search engine optimization (SEO) and improve how content appears when shared on social media platforms.
        ATP storefront integrations
        This feature allows you to view backordered products labeled Available for Backorder along with an expected availability date. You can place orders for out-of-stock items and schedule delivery or pickup for the expected date. The Schedule for Later option provides flexibility by enabling you to select a future date for delivery or a pickup date and time for pickup.
        In-progress orders and saved carts
        In-progress orders allow users to save their shopping carts for later checkout. This feature enables users to add items, make modifications, and complete the purchase at their convenience without losing their selections. This functionality is available for both B2C and B2B Ruby storefronts. To use this feature on Ruby storefronts, the user must navigate to Account Settings and click In-Progress Orders.
        Creating in-progress orders
        You can use the following steps to create a new in-progress orders for the Ruby B2B storefront.
        Copying in-progress orders
        You can copy an in-progress order in the Ruby B2B storefront. A copy of the order can be created by an individual user or by another person in the case of a shared order. However, you cannot copy private orders owned by others.
        Video support
        On Product Detail Pages (PDP), videos appear alongside product images, providing an interactive shopping experience. Customers can click the video icon to play the video and use the built-in video player to watch product demonstrations, unboxings, or usage examples, helping them make informed purchase decisions.
      - GDPR/Privacy Policy
        Commerce+ provides the GDPR (privacy policy) enablement process.
      - Multiple Extended Site (eSite) access
        The Next.js store supports multiple eSite access with a single deployment.
    - The Customer Service Hub
      The Customer Service hub, also known as the CSR tool, provides your Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) an authority to manage Accounts and Orders for a selected store.

      You can migrate store development environments to Open Liberty and a modern Java Development Kit (JDK) by using Commerce+ remote store dev kit migration to standardize environments and minimize reliance on legacy tooling.

Copying in-progress orders

You can copy an in-progress order in the Ruby B2B storefront. A copy of the order can be created by an individual user or by another person in the case of a shared order. However, you cannot copy private orders owned by others.

About this task

When copying an order, the new order inherits the original order's visibility settings:

A copied private order remains private by default.
A copied shared order remains shared by default.

Procedure

Open the Ruby (B2B) store landing page and enter your login credentials.
Navigate to Account Settings > In-Progress Orders.
In the Actions menu, click the Copy icon to copy the order.
Enter a name for the new order.
Click the Save button.

Note: The Cancel button redirects you to the In-Progress Orders page.

Results

The order is created successfully and you can view this order in the list of in-progress orders.
