Creating tax jurisdictions
Use Management Center Tools to create new tax jurisdictions. You can create unlimited number of tax jurisdictions.
Note: You can use the Tax Jurisdictions to create an unlimited number of
tax jurisdictions; however, if you use more than 50 jurisdictions, you might find that the tax
rates table, which is displayed on the Rates page, takes a long time to
display.
Procedure
- Open Management Center tools.
- From the hamburger menu, click Tax Jurisdictions page opens for the selected store. . The
- Open Management Center tools and from the left navigation menu, click .
- Click New. On New tax jurisdiction page, provide information in the Tax jurisdiction details to create a new tax jurisdiction.
- Enter the Name, for new tax jurisdiction.

To add a jurisdiction:
- From the Country list, select a country.
- Use the State/Province/Region list or field as follows:
- If you selected Canada, United States, or Japan as your country, do one of the
following steps:
- From the list, select a state, province, or region for the chosen country.
- If one tax rate applies to the entire country, then the state, province, or region field can be left blank.
- If you selected a country other than Canada, United States, or Japan, do one of
the following steps:
- From this field, type the name of the state, province, or region for the chosen country.
- If the tax rate applies to the entire country, or if the country does not have states, provinces, or region then leave this field blank.
- If you selected Canada, United States, or Japan as your country, do one of the
following steps:
- Click Save to add the combination of country and state to the Defined jurisdictions list.
- Repeat step 4 to add more tax jurisdictions.
