Deleting Commerce Composer objects and subfolders from a folder

You can delete content pages, layouts, or subfolders from a folder.

Before you begin

HCL Commerce EnterpriseIf you are using extended sites, ensure that you understand how folders work in extended sites. For more information, see Folders in extended sites.

Procedure

  1. Open the Commerce Composer tool.
  2. HCL Commerce Version 9.1.16.0 or later Open Management Center tools and from the left navigation menu, click Business tools > Store Management > Commerce Composer.
  3. In the explorer view, locate and select the folder that contains the subfolder or object that you want to delete.
    The contents of the folder displays in the main work area.
    Tip: You can view a list of objects or a list of folders within the folder or directory. Click the Show objects list Show Layout List or Show Content Page List to display the list of objects within the folder. Click the Show folders List Show Layout Folders List or Show Content Page Folders List to display the list of subfolders.
  4. Right-click the object or folder that you want to delete; click Delete.
    • Delete or remove the content page or layout.
      • A window opens. Choose an option:
        Delete
        The content page or layout is deleted from the folder and from your system.
        Remove
        The reference to the content page or layout is deleted from the folder. The content page or layout is not deleted.
    • Delete a folder - If you delete a folder, you delete the folder from your system. If the folder contains any Commerce Composer objects, the objects are deleted from the folder. The objects continue to exist in your system and in any other folders that include the objects.

    You can also delete a subfolder from a parent folder within the properties view of the subfolder by removing the folder entry in the Parent Folder table. Removing this entry makes the subfolder a top-level folder.

  5. Verify that the Commerce Composer object or subfolder no longer displays within the parent folder.
