Creating a percentage constant to use in a price rule

If you have a percentage that you intend to use repeatedly in price calculations, you can create a percentage constant to represent that value. For example, you can create a percentage constant to represent margins that must be added to prices. You can then use the percentage constant in price equations. You can also use the percentage constant in the Comparison Condition.

Procedure

  1. Open Management Center tools and from the hamburger menu, click Manage Accounts > Catalog Filter and Pricing .
  2. HCL Commerce Version 9.1.16.0 or later Open Management Center tools and from the left navigation menu, click Business tools > Customer Management > Price Lists.
  3. From the toolbar, click the arrow on the right side of Add newArrow Create New; then select Percentage Constant.
  4. In the properties view, set the following properties:
    PropertyDescription
NameType a name for this percentage constant, for example, Margin. In a price equation, this name displays beneath the Constant icon that uses this percentage constant.
Description Enter text that explains what the percentage constant is used for.
TypeThis property is a display field to indicate the type of constant.
Percent (%)Type the percentage without the percentage sign. For example, to specify 10%, type 10.
  5. Save and close the percentage constant.

What to do next

Use this percentage constant in any price equation, or in the Comparison Condition.
