Creating a percentage constant to use in a price rule
If you have a percentage that you intend to use repeatedly in price calculations, you can create a percentage constant to represent that value. For example, you can create a percentage constant to represent margins that must be added to prices. You can then use the percentage constant in price equations. You can also use the percentage constant in the Comparison Condition.
Procedure
- Open Management Center Tools and from Hamburger menu, click .
- From the toolbar, click the arrow on the right side of Create New; then select Percentage Constant.
- In the properties view, set the following properties:
Property Description Name Type a name for this percentage constant, for example, Margin. In a price equation, this name displays beneath the Constant icon that uses this percentage constant. Description Enter text that explains what the percentage constant is used for. Type This property is a display field to indicate the type of constant. Percent (%) Type the percentage without the percentage sign. For example, to specify 10%, type 10. - Save and close the percentage constant.
