Interactive monitoring
Using an agent installed on your application, AppScan 360° identifies security vulnerabilities in your application during runtime by monitoring all interactions, both legitimate and malicious. The process is "passive," in the sense that IAST does not send its own tests, and can therefore run indefinitely.
Software Composition Analysis
Use Software Composition Analysis (SCA) to scan for security vulnerabilities in open source and third-party packages used by your code. SCA includes Intelligent Finding Analytics (IFA) and Intelligent Code Analytics (ICA).
Static analysis
Use static analysis (SAST) to scan for security vulnerabilities in web and desktop applications. Static analysis includes Intelligent Finding Analytics (IFA) and Intelligent Code Analytics (ICA).
Results
The Scans and Sessions page lists the scans under the categories DAST, SAST, SCA, and IAST, where you can view your scan results, including scan statistics. AppScan Model Context Protocol (MCP) server
The AppScan MCP server integrates HCL AppScan 360° directly with AI-powered development environments and agents. By implementing the Model Context Protocol (MCP), this server allows LLMs (such as Claude or models running in VS Code) to securely access your security data—including SAST, DAST, SCA, and IAST results—to help you triage issues, analyze findings, and automate workflows using natural language.

Upgrade Guide for AppScan 360°

Introduction

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for upgrading to the latest version of AppScan 360°. It is essential to follow these steps carefully to ensure a smooth transition and to take advantage of the new features and improvements in the latest release.

Pre-Upgrade Checklist

Ensure no scans are running during the upgrade process.
Backup all necessary data and configurations before starting the upgrade.
Review the release notes for the latest version to understand the new features and any potential breaking changes.
Ensure that the system meets the minimum resource requirements.
Ensure Helm4 is installed and available on the path(Remove or replace Helm3 if present).

Backup Instructions

Backup the AppScan 360° database.
- If using SCA, backup all databases bind to AppScan 360° including SCA DBs.
Storage systems(Host path/Mounted storage or Kubernetes PV) should be backed up as per the storage type and backup strategy in place.
Configuration files
- One Click installation: singular-singular.clusterKit.properties
- Helm installation: singular-singular.clusterKit.yaml
- Single VM Setup: singular-singular.clusterKit.properties and as360-aio-answers.env, located under aioWorkspace/audit.

Determine the AppScan 360° version you are currently running on. Following instructions are applicable for upgrading from 2.0.0/2.0.1 to 2.1.0.
