Getting started with HCL Universal Orchestrator

Introducing the Orchestration Monitor

The Orchestration Monitor gives you a real-time view of Workstations, workflows, tasks, event sources, resources, and endpoints, including graphical flowcharts that help you follow statuses and dependencies.

The Orchestration Monitor lets you supervise your running workload from the UI. From this page, you can search monitored items, review their current status, and inspect how workflows and tasks are related in the plan.

v2.1.6+Workflow view: Click the Workflow view button above the data table to switch the selected rows into the visual canvas. The canvas displays workflows and tasks as interactive flowcharts. Each workflow node can be expanded to show the full task layout or minimized to a compact summary. Use the View options panel to control dependency display, status detail, and constraint visibility. Data refresh: The canvas stays current through configurable autorefresh. Use the refresh dropdown to select a predefined interval (Off, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, or 15 minutes), or select Custom to enter any interval in seconds. A manual refresh icon is also available, with a hover tooltip showing the last update timestamp.
Properties panel: Clicking any workflow or task card on the canvas opens the properties panel on the right side of the screen. The panel is a single continuous scroll containing expandable sections for general information, scheduling options, time restrictions, and other parameters specific to the selected item type.
Run instances and foreach iterations: Hover over a task card to access the run history for that item. For Foreach tasks, an orange looping badge shows the iteration count. Clicking the badge opens the Foreach instances sidebar, where you can load individual iterations onto the canvas and inspect their properties.
