Changed features, improvements, and RFEs in version 10.2.7
A list of features changed and improved since the previous release and major improvements.
Changed and improved features
The following features have changed or have been introduced or removed since the previous release:
- Support for Oracle AI Database 26ai
- Oracle AI Database 26ai embeds artificial intelligence directly into the core data and development stack, enabling enterprises to run AI-powered workloads across operational systems and analytic data systems without complex integrations. You can now use Oracle AI Database 26ai with all server components and the Dynamic Workload Console. To improve operational performance, see the settings explained in Optimizing performance for Oracle AI Database 26ai.
- Automatic creation of PostgreSQL database at installation time
- Manual creation of the PostgreSQL database before a fresh installation is no longer required. The database is now automatically created at installation time, without intervention on your part. For more information, see Creating and populating the database for PostgreSQL or PostgreSQL cloud-based databases for the master domain manager and Creating and populating the database for PostgreSQL or PostgreSQL cloud-based databases for the Dynamic Workload Console. If you are using a Dynamic Workload Console in a z/OS environment, the database is also automatically created at installation time, as described in Creating and populating the database for PostgreSQL for the Dynamic Workload Console.
- Custom certificate aliases for WebSphere Application Server Liberty
- You can now optionally specify the alias of the certificate that
WebSphere Application Server
Liberty uses
to connect to HCL Workload Automation by setting the
serverKeyAlias property in the ssl_config.xml file. The
default value is
server. If you specify a different alias, WebSphere Application Server Liberty uses only the specified alias. For more information about WebSphere Application Server Liberty configuration files, see Configuring HCL Workload Automation using templates. - New OCLI command to set/remove nop flags from jobs in plan
- The nop and unnop commands temporarily disable and re-enable jobs without deleting them or changing their dependencies. If a job faces a service outage or other disruptions, it can be paused to let all other associated jobs run without delay.
Requests for enhancements (RFEs)
Requests for Enhancements (RFEs) give customers the opportunity to collaborate directly with the product development team and other users. The team prioritizes and develops new product features based on proposals made by customers.
HCL Workload Automation V 10.2.7
delivers the following RFEs:
- WAO-624 - Maintenance scripts are now available for all supported databases
- You can now use the dedicated scripts to maintain your database and improve performance. For more information, see Automated database maintenance and optimization suite.
- WAD-I-114, WAO-I-655 - Enhanced password security
- HCL Workload Automation now masks passwords encrypted with the AES algorithm in job logs and job properties to guarantee higher security standards.
- WAD-I-170 Enhanced Windows file monitoring
- The filemonitor utility on Windows has been enhanced to ensure higher reliability during file-transfer operations. This improvement addresses scenarios where files are copied manually or by using third-party tools that do not follow the standard temporary-and-rename pattern.
- WAO-I-656
- In addition to creating incidents, you can now configure HCL Workload Automation to send events directly to a ServiceNow instance when a specific rule is triggered. For more information, see New Send Event action for ServiceNow integrations.
- WAD-I-149 - Add OCLI Command to Set/Remove NOP Flag for Jobs in Current Plan
- Users need the ability to mark jobs as NOP (No Operation) or remove the NOP flag via OCLI in the current plan (tentative or planned) to control execution without modifying the plan permanently.
- WAD-I-152 - Shadow job integration supporting folder structure
- The Shadow job integration now supports remote jobs stored in folders. This enables the use of full folder paths to identify remote jobs, reducing naming conflicts in complex environments. For more information, see Shadow jobs.
- WAD-I-176 - Enhanced job stream visibility: real-time job counts
- The Graphical Designer now displays the total job count directly within the job stream box in the workspace, providing instant visibility into the workload of each stream.
