IBM Management Center for WebSphere Commerce
The IBM Management Center for WebSphere Commerce, or Management Center, is a suite of tools to support store management, merchandising, and marketing tasks for business users (Sellers, Marketing Managers, Product Managers, Catalog Managers, and others).
Marketing tool
Use the Marketing tool in Management Center to create and manage marketing campaigns and other store content, excluding catalog content. You can use the extensive precision marketing features in the tool to deliver targeted marketing messages to customers.
Managing search rule experiments
Search rule experiments are managed by Marketing Managers. They are used to test the effectiveness of search rules.
Viewing the statistics of a search rule experiment
You can view the statistics for search rule experiments while they are running, to determine how the experiment is progressing. You can also view the statistics for completed experiments.

        Search rule experiments
        Search rule experiments provide a way to test the effectiveness of specific search rules running on your storefront. By setting up a search rule experiment, you can run alternative paths in a single search rule and compare the results of each path. You can also test whether a specific search rule is producing better results than having no search rule at all. For each path in the experiment, you can see statistics for unique customers, clicks, orders, and revenue.

        By understanding how the server collects and calculates statistics for the test elements in your search rule experiments, you can effectively evaluate the results of the experiment.
        Creating search rule experiments
        Create a search rule experiment to find out how effective certain search rules are at driving sales. For example, you can use two or more different search actions in a single search rule, each on a different path, and run both paths on your storefront for a time. You can then view a report that shows which path is generating more clicks, orders, and revenue from the search results page.

        Selecting the winning path for a search rule experiment
        When your experiment is complete, you must select the most successful path in the search rule to use going forward. You can determine the winning path based on the default statistics that WebSphere Commerce collects, or based on data from some other analytics provider.
        Suspending or resuming search rule experiments
        Search rule experiments can exist in the store in two states: running or suspended. You can suspend an experiment if you want the experiment paths in the search rule to become inactive. While the experiment is suspended, only the control path (the top path) in the search rule remains active on your store pages. You can resume an experiment by setting the status back to running.

Viewing the statistics of a search rule experiment

You can view the statistics for search rule experiments while they are running, to determine how the experiment is progressing. You can also view the statistics for completed experiments.

Procedure

Open the Marketing tool.
From the explorer view, click Search Rules. The Search Rules - List page opens.
Right-click the search rule that contains the experiment for which you want to review the statistics; then click Open.
Click the Experiment element.
The experiment's properties display in the properties view.
Click the Statistics tab.
The statistics for each path display in a table.
In an extended site model, the statistics reflect only the results in the current store.
