Deleting attribute values from catalog entries
You can delete values from descriptive and defining attributes within catalog entries. This is useful when conditions change, for example, if the manufacturer no longer makes a product in a certain color, or a product is no longer available in a certain size.
You cannot delete values from attribute dictionary attributes within catalog entries; you must delete these values from the attribute dictionary.
Before you begin
- Delete the SKU.
- Add a new value to the attribute of the product and then assign the value to the descriptive or defining attribute of the SKU.
Procedure
- Open the Catalogs tool.
- Find the catalog entry that contains the defining or descriptive attribute value you want to delete.
- In the Search Results view, right-click the catalog entry; then click Open to open the properties view for the catalog entry.
- Complete one of the following steps:
Option Description Delete a descriptive attribute value - Click the Descriptive Attributes tab.
- In the Descriptive Attributes table, right-click the attribute you want to delete the attribute value from; then click Delete. Since you can have only one value for a descriptive attribute, you must delete the entire attribute from the catalog entry.

- In the Defining Attributes table, right-click the attribute you want to delete the attribute value from; then click Open to open the properties view for the attribute.
- In the Attribute Values section, right-click the attribute value you want to delete; then click Delete.
- Click Save or Save and Close.
