Troubleshooting: Locating the fix pack backup files

Before uninstalling a fix pack, ensure that the fix pack backup files exist on the system. Without these backup files, you will not be able to uninstall the fix pack successfully.

Problem

You want to locate the backup files of the fix pack installation.

Solution

The WebSphere Commerce fix pack update installer makes a backup of all the files modified during the fix pack installation.
  • The backups made while installing the fix pack on the WebSphere Commerce product directory can be found in a .pak file at the following directory:
    • WC_installdir/properties/version/update/backup
  • The backups made while installing the fix pack on your WebSphere Commerce instance can be found in a .pak file at the following location:
    • SolarisLinuxAIXWindowsWC_installdir/instances/instance_name/properties/version/update/backup
    • For IBM i OS operating systemWC_userdir/instances/instance_name /properties/version/update/backup
Note: The backup files are required if you uninstall the fix pack. Do not delete these backup files.
