        Controllers select gateways based on subnet similarity ranking, prioritizing gateways whose subnets best match the target's IP addresses when establishing connections.

  - Editing the properties files
    You can use the properties files in Remote Control to customize your environment, configure Microsoft Entra ID or LDAP, set debug options, and set controller and on-demand target properties. The files can be edited in the BigFix® Remote Control Server UI.

    Use properties to determine what type of information and how much is written to the broker, gateway, and target component log files.

Managing Gateway logs

About this task

The gateway component recognizes two more configuration keywords, which are contained in the gateway configuration file. You can use these keywords to configure log rotation and to specify the maximum period for which log files are retained.

LogRotation

Controls the period after which an older log file is overwritten. Log rotation can be disabled.

LogRollover

Controls the period after which a new log file is started. This period must be smaller than the LogRotation period, therefore not all combinations are valid. LogRollover cannot be disabled.
