To change the default spacing between items in the version tree

About this task

You can change the default vertical spacing between version markers and adjust the location of metadata relative to associated version markers.

Procedure

  1. In the Version Tree Browser window, click Tools > Options.
    The Options window opens.
  2. On the Font and Color Selection page, in the sample version tree, do one of the following:
    • Hold the cursor over the highlighted version marker (version 2) under the /main branch marker. The cursor changes to double headed arrows. Drag the version marker vertically up and down until the spacing between the markers is correct.
    • Hold the cursor over the sample line for the type of metadata to change its relative location to version markers. The cursor changes to double-headed arrows. Drag the sample line for the type of metadata to change to the location until the text is positioned correctly.
    Restriction: When changing the default spacing for version markers, you can change only the vertical distance between the markers.
    Tip: Unlike the version markers, the metadata objects can be moved horizontally and vertically in the sample version tree.
  3. Click Apply to see the change in the live version tree. Adjust locations as necessary.
  4. Click OK.
