Using File Browser

The File Browser is the primary HCL VersionVault graphical interface utility. The File Browser is a standard X Window System application that adheres to the mouse and keyboard conventions.

From the File Browser, you can operate on HCL VersionVault elements and file-system objects and start other browsers (for example, the Branch Type Browser and the Label Type Browser) that operate on type objects. You can issue most VersionVault commands through these tools. (You can issue every HCL VersionVault command through the command line.)

Use File Browser as the base for all HCL VersionVault graphic user interface operations. Establish a context within an HCL VersionVault view and launch other HCL VersionVault applications in that context.
