Updating License Server Fingerprint
The Updating License Server Fingerprint feature allows users to update the unique fingerprint associated with their license server. The fingerprint is essentially a unique identifier tied to the system or hardware where the license server is deployed.
The fingerprint ensures that the license server is running on the intended hardware or environment. Updating it allows the system to authenticate and verify that the license is being used on the correct server. If any changes to the hardware or system configuration occur (e.g., replacing a device, server or upgrading components), the fingerprint may need to be updated to maintain licensing compliance.
Steps to update Local License Server Fingerprint:
- Select Update License Server Fingerprint option from the deployment menu.
- Update the fingerprint and click “update and Download” to download the License Server file.
Note:
Once the License Server Fingerprint is updated, the previous License
Server file will become invalid and will no longer work. But some of the HCL Software
deployments are locked, in that case, users are not allowed to update/modify the fingerprint
with allocated deployment.
