ClearCase® Doctor

DevOps Code ClearCase® Doctor analyzes and reports on this computer's readiness to run ClearCase®. You can also use it for either of the following tasks:

  • analyze this computer's ability to contact specific ClearCase® servers on your local area network
  • analyze another Windows computer on your local area network

If ClearCase® Doctor finds problems that could affect ClearCase® operations, it suggests a solution and may be able to fix the problem for you. It may also tell you the circumstances under which you can safely ignore certain problems.

ClearCase® Doctor runs just before you install a new version of ClearCase® and when you reboot after installing a new version of ClearCase®. (The set of tests run during installation are a subset of tests run at logon.) You can also run ClearCase® Doctor at any other time. In some instances, IBM Software Support for Rational products might ask you to run ClearCase® Doctor and then report or mail in the results.

Note: For any analysis, ClearCase® Doctor displays additional information if you first select Options > Verbose. For example, in verbose mode, ClearCase® Doctor reports timing statistics (such as how long it takes to contact a server).
