To add shortcuts to your Windows Send To folder
About this task
Before opening a version of a source file with the Send To command on the shortcut menu, you must add an application's shortcut to your Send To folder. For example, if you want to open version 2 of prog.c in Microsoft Visual Studio, you create a shortcut to Visual Studio in the Send To folder.

Procedure
- In Windows Explorer, navigate to the icon for an application that will open your source files.
- Right-click the icon, and on the shortcut menu, click Create Shortcut.
- Right-click the shortcut you just created, and on the shortcut menu, click Cut.
- Navigate to your Send To folder. You can also use the Find tool to find the Send To folder.
- Right-click the Send To folder, and on the shortcut menu, click Paste.
