Guidelines for locating view storage directories for disconnected use

In all the configurations recommended for remote use, the view storage directory is in a server storage location. In DevOps Code ClearCase®, this configuration is ideal (and, on Windows® systems, in the case of a removable storage device, this configuration is enforced) because DevOps Code ClearCase performance relies partially on the communications ability of various DevOps Code ClearCase server processes. If you connect to the network from a remote location, you can improve DevOps Code ClearCase performance if the view_server process for your view communicates with VOBs through a LAN instead of a modem.
