About this task
When a developer is ready to build (for unit tests, for example) the source programs that he or she has modified, the developer uses BCL with a PDS containing the artifacts modified by the developer concatenated ahead of the shared PDS created by the administrator containing the baseline level of the shared artifacts (for example, for SYSLIB). When the developer is ready to share an updated source file with others, a checkin (and deliver if your site is using UCM) is performed on the file. The administrator will take necessary actions, such as merge, create a new baseline, upload the new baseline artifacts to a new set of shared PDSs, or replace the currently shared PDSs according to the standard and protocols determined by your installation.
